Ipswich Scenic 100 – Sunday 7 March 2027

The Ipswich Scenic 100 is back for 2027, with four great rides through Ipswich and the Scenic Rim to choose from.

Bicycle Queensland is proud to once again partner with Lions Brisbane West to deliver this long-running community cycling event. Starting and finishing at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) Ipswich campus, the Ipswich Scenic 100 gives riders the chance to take on a supported, fully marshalled ride, with distances to suit everyone from families and newer riders through to experienced cyclists looking for a serious day out.

Choose your challenge

  • 170km – The complete Ipswich Scenic 100 experience, for riders over 18
  • 100km – The classic event, for riders over 16
  • 50km – A great half-century ride, for riders over 12
  • 25km – An accessible ride for families, younger riders and those looking for a shorter challenge, for riders over 12

A note about the 170km: if you’ve ridden the Ipswich Scenic 100 before, you’ll recognise this as the previous 160km route. For 2027 it’s being called the 170km to better reflect its actual distance – the ride itself hasn’t changed.

Whether you’re chasing a personal achievement, riding with mates or family, or simply looking for a great day out on the bike, there’s a distance for you.

Ride times and bib collection

All rides start from the UniSQ Ipswich campus, accessed via Parker Avenue.

Distance Bib collection Ride starts
170km 5:15am – 5:50am 6:00am
100km 5:30am – 6:20am 6:30am
50km 6:00am – 6:50am 7:00am
25km 6:30am – 7:20am 7:30am

Collect your bib on the day

There’s no need to wait for your rider bib to arrive in the post. All rider bibs will be available for collection from the Bicycle Queensland tent on event morning.

Please arrive during the bib collection window for your ride, giving yourself enough time to collect your bib and prepare before your start.

The BQ tent will also operate a complimentary rider cloakroom, so you can leave a small bag, jacket or other gear with us while you ride and collect it when you return.

Why ride the Ipswich Scenic 100?

The Ipswich Scenic 100 is your opportunity to enjoy some fantastic riding through Ipswich and the Scenic Rim as part of an organised community event.

You set the challenge. Take on the approachable 25km ride, step it up to 50km, tackle the classic 100km or commit to the full 170km experience.

Along the way, you’ll have the reassurance of an organised event with route support, marshals and rest stops, allowing you to concentrate on enjoying the ride.

Bicycle Queensland riding insurance

Want some extra peace of mind for your ride?

Bicycle Queensland members receive riding insurance as part of eligible membership, including personal accident and public liability cover.

If you’re not currently covered through BQ membership, optional one-day riding insurance will be available as an add-on during registration, providing cover for the Ipswich Scenic 100 event day.

Alternatively, riders can join Bicycle Queensland and enjoy the benefits of membership beyond event day. BQ works to make riding better across Queensland through advocacy, events, campaigns, resources and a community that champions riding for transport, recreation and sport.

Pick your distance, set yourself a goal and join riders from across South East Queensland for the 2027 Ipswich Scenic 100 on Sunday 7 March.
